Since his studies with Phil Wilson at the Berklee School of Music in the early 1980’s, Barry Green has played trombone in almost every setting imaginable. He is presently Touring with Larry Carlton. Album credits include Michael McDonald, Kenny Loggins, Andy Williams, Kenny Rogers, Tony Bennett, Brooks & Dunn, The Neville Brothers, Pete Fountain, Shirley Caesar, Ray Stevens, Bela Fleck, Garth Brooks, Michael Crawford, and many others. Jingle clients include Ford Motor Company, Budweiser, HGTV, CNN, Coke-Cola, WTBS, and Shoneys. Live shows include Michael McDonald, James Ingram, Temptations, O’Jays, Four Tops, Steve Allen, Lena Horne, and Prairie Home Companion. Symphonic work includes Nashville, Huntsville, and Chattanooga Symphony, and Nashville Chamber Brass Society. He has also played with world-renowned entertainers such as Lyle Lovett, The Glenn Miller Orchestra, Natalie Cole, Alison Krauss, Slide Hampton, Jimmy Lovelace, The Mavericks, Aretha Franklin, The Tommy Dorsey Orchestra, Jimmy Buffet, Olivia Newton-John, Michael McDonald, Bela Fleck, Kirk Whalum, Hank Williams, Jr. and Brooks & Dunn. On Friday, December 2, 2011 The Nashville Jazz Orchestra will present its annual Holiday concert. Titled "Trombonanza" the event will feature a set of virtuoso trombone playing by Barry Green, Roy Agee and others. The Blair Big Band led by Billy Adair will take the stage for the first set. Concert will be in Ingram Hall at the Blair School of Music at 8:00pm. Tickets will be available at the door, with reduced prices for students and seniors.
