Saxophonist Chris West releases the second recording in "The Surprise Trilogy" a 3 CD set of all original material, at a release celebration and performance Thursday, July 28, 7PM at The Basement."The Surprise Trilogy" features some of Nashville's finest, including Jeff Coffin, Don Aliquo, Rod McGaha, Derek Phillips, Pat Bergeson, Adam Agati, Greg Bryant, Charles Treadway and many others.
The first CD from The Surprise Trilogy set was released in February. This installment is set for release Thursday, July 28 with a celebration and performance, 7PM at The Basement, 1604 8th Avenue South, Nashville, TN. A $10 cover at the door includes a copy of the CD.
This is the second album of three in the Surprise Trilogy series. Most of the nine original tracks are in the style of traditional jazz and pull from Chris’ straight ahead jazz genre influences, as opposed to the modern/funky jazz style of Jazzmanic, Chris’ debut album.
Notable guests for the CD release include Jeff Coffin, Rod McGaha, Halfbrass, and a saxophone quartet.
